Support

How to reach us.

This page is for the crew and the fleet team using Orvedis. One address covers the app: support@orvedis.com. It reaches the people who build it.

What to put in the message

Write in your own words. The more of the following you can give us, the sooner we can see what you saw.

  • The vessel. The name of the ship and the company it sails for.
  • The device. Brand and model, and the device page you were on in the app.
  • What you were doing. The question you asked, or the step you were on when it went wrong.
  • What you saw. What the screen said, as close to word for word as you can, and roughly when it happened.
  • Screenshots. If you have any, attach them. A photo of the equipment panel helps as well.
  • Your phone. The phone model and its system version, and whether you installed the app recently.

What happens next

We read every message and answer as quickly as we can. We do not promise a response time on this page. Where an organisation needs a committed one, it belongs in the written agreement between us.

If there is danger on board

This page is not the place for it. Where there is a risk to life, to the vessel or to the environment, the ship’s own procedures apply, together with the company’s emergency contacts, the master and the DPA. Orvedis is not an emergency service, and a message sent here does not reach anyone on watch.

Accounts and access

Accounts are created by Orvedis for the fleet operator. There is no sign-up in the app. A new user, a password reset or the removal of someone’s access goes through your company’s Orvedis contact, who asks us for it.

If your company does not use Orvedis yet, and you would like a demo or an account, write to hello@orvedis.com or request a demo.

Your data and your account

A copy of your data and the deletion of your account are both in the app: open Account, then PRIVACY & LEGAL, then “Your data and your account”. For any other privacy question, write to privacy@orvedis.com. The privacy policy sets out what we hold, why, and for how long.

Security reports

If you have found a vulnerability, write to security@orvedis.com. The same address is published in our security.txt. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it, and give us the time to fix it before it goes any further.

What the assistant will and will not do

The assistant explains and diagnoses. It says what a reading, an alarm or a symptom means, what the device’s own manual says about it, and it asks the crew to look at the panel and report what they see. It does not instruct hazardous work, and it stops when a question crosses that line, which includes opening an enclosure, work on high voltage, antenna alignment or calibration, soldering, replacing a part and firmware work. It does not stand in for the manufacturer’s documentation or for a qualified technician, and every decision on board stays with the master. The terms set this out in full.
